Incredible Team Skipping Challenge – World Records

ourteen young pupils from Fuji Municipal Harada Elementary School in Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan have turned a fun playground game into an official Guinness World Records title after achieving the Most skips over a single rope in one minute by a team.

Watch as the kids form a single file train and start running round in a figure of eight, effortlessly skipping over the spinning rope one-by-one as if the obstacle isn’t even there.

Each of the 12 skippers leap over the rope more than 18 times, setting incredible new group record of 225 skips.

The kids take the record from rival Japanese students from Hiromi Elementary School, who achieved the earlier total of 217 skips back in 2013.

Children love to practice skipping with their friends, but the sport is often taken very seriously in Japan, as shown by the number of skipping records that have already been smashed in the country in the past 12 months.

Just weeks ago we shared a video of Sadatoshi Watanabe attempting a number of intense jump rope world records in Wako. He successfully achieves Guinness World Records titles for the Most skips over a 10 m rope in 30 seconds and Most bum skips in 30 seconds.

The incredibly-talented Double Dutch team Diana of Toride, Ibaraki also recently set a jaw-dropping speed-skipping world record. Quick-footed 23-year-old Ayumi Sakamaki lead the group to win the Most Double Dutch-style skips in 30 seconds.
