John Cena has millions of fans from all over the world, and he’s been known to surprise them from time to time. But in a turn of events, Cena’s fans were the ones to surprise him in a video released by Cricket Wireless.
In the clip, the WWE superstar reacted to letters sent to him by fans, thanking him for inspiring them to keep going and never give up. However, he had no idea that the kids who wrote the letters were just a room away from him, listening as he read their notes aloud.
The last note was from Tyler Schweer, a child who received a wristband to a WWE event from Cena himself when Schweer’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. And when his mom underwent her operation, Schweer gave the wristband to her and told her not to give up. She is now cancer-free.
Schweer then burst into the room, causing Cena to tear up and give the child a big hug, telling him that he’s “extremely strong” for going through what he did. Each fan who wrote Cena appeared afterwards to thank him again for everything he’s done for them. They then all presented Cena with a “Life Changer” trophy to which he was initially speechless.
“Don’t think you’re the only one who’s up against anything, and don’t think you’re the only one who doesn’t have challenges to face every day,” Cena eventually said. “I mean it when I say, ‘Never give up.’”
